About
Hello.
Nick Fletcher here - founder at artist.dev
I love music because I believe in the songs.
Not the algorithm.
Not the playlist politics.
The songs.
What I've learned: getting heard is harder than ever.
Talented artists are everywhere, releasing music into a void. They spend more time creating short-form content than focusing on their craft.
This leads to fans drowning in content, with no reliable way to find what's worth their time.
Two problems, same broken system.
I keep thinking about the writers' rounds. How they work because it's intimate and democratic.
The song matters more than your follower count. The audience decides what's good.
It's human.
artist.dev is my attempt to build that vibe on the internet.
Artists submit a song for a small fee. Every day at 10am, new songs drop. The community listens and votes. The best rise.
No algorithm deciding who gets heard.
Just music and people.
The fee isn't about revenue. It's a filter. It keeps the submissions serious and the noise low. Priced so a working artist can always take the shot.
No pay-to-win tiers. No influencer fast-passes.
Just a fair shot.
Nashville-first, but the stage is open to anyone with a song worth hearing.
I don't know if this will work. But I know the current system isn't working for most artists.
So we're trying something different.
Thanks for being here.
