Blue Earth Sound

Cinematic jazz-soul for late-night city drives

Blue Earth Sound is the instrumental project of James Weir, a Chicago multi-instrumentalist and composer. It blends cinematic jazz, psych and soul, and tells its stories without words. Cicero Nights came first, in 2025. The second album, Everything to Remember, is dated November 20, 2026, on London's DeepMatter Records. It was recorded in Chicago and shaped on writing retreats in rural Wisconsin, and it's about how a place or a melody can drop you back into another time. Fender Rhodes, Hammond organ, guitar, flute and saxophone carry it, with drummer Patch Romanowski and Resavoir trumpeter Will Miller.
